from the get go and she thinks it s because she s a true crime writer so it s probably from the other books she has written The attacks increase and thankfully, Ryan is always there to save her Of course Ryan finds out that she is the daughter of one of the killer s victims and that doesn t go over well They begin to really work together but the attacks escalate I liked the ending of the book and the relationship Ryan and Kacie had I am looking forward to the conclusion in book 4 Carol writes such great series and the characters are always well developed Carol Ericson weaves in another story of the Brody brothers and their quest to clear their father s name of being a serial killer This time Ryan Brody is working with Kacie Manning to write a book about the Phone Book Killer He s hoping it s what s needed to clear his father s name, but Kacie has a totally different agenda She wants to prove his father is guilty of being the serial killer that took her mother s life. But, Kacie weave plots together to keep you guessing who the bad guys are and who the good guys are People with answers keep turning up dead Will they ever find out who the real Phone Book Killer is Will they ever find out why Ryan s father jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge I, for one, will anxiously be awaiting the conclusion of the Brody story with The Hill I would heartily recommend The Wharf for a good page turning fun book to read It will make you want to read other Brody Law books In Erickson s romantic suspense novel, true crime writer Kacie Manning is determined to expose the serial killer This is the third book in the Brody Law series I didn t know that when I first decided to read it, the book was a gift I thought this book was pretty good I thought the prose was great, the story had a nice flow to it Shockingly, I could have done without the love scenes The story was really good on its own, and I think the loves scenes made it stall a bit, even if they did serve a purpose no spoilers here lol I would categorize this book as a beach read I am pretty interested in seein This is the third book in the Brody Law series I didn t know that when I first decided to read it, the this series goes from here But, as I said before, this is book three and I feel kind of cheated by not knowing what led to this I will say, that not knowing anything from the start, the previous books don t seem necessary at this point this book touched on previous cases the other characters dest with, so you kind of get the gist of it.Happy reading I started this at a disadvantage because I haven t read the first two books in the series, but I felt like I got up to speed pretty quickly Ryan is the third son of a respected San Francisco police detective who was suspected of being a serial killer before he jumped from the Golden Gate bridge He and his three brothers have never accepted it and are determined to prove their father innocent Ryan was contacted by Kacie, a best selling true crime author, who wants to write his father s story I started this at a disadvantage because I haven t read the first two books in the series, but I felt like I got up to speed pretty quickly Ryan is prove his innocence, when in reality she s convinced the man is guilty, and that her mother was his first victim. The danger starts before Ryan and Kacie meet officially She ends up locked in the hotel sauna a few hours after meeting an informant about another case she has written about, and Ryan is the one who rescues her From that point there is an intense attraction between them that neither has much luck resisting Ryan finds her terribly distracting, and it s sometimes amusing to see the way he loses focus when he s around her He s determined to keep things professional because he really does want her help clearing his father s name Kacie finds Ryan just as distracting, and is also fighting the guilt she feels for misleading him In spite of it all, they just can t keep their hands off each other, and both start thinking of what might be possible between them until Ryan discovers the secret she s been keeping from him He feels betrayed and Kacie has a hard time convincing him that she really cares. As they work together to follow the leads in the case, they start to realize that things are not adding up People that they question end up dead or badly hurt before they can get back to them foranswers Other people or information go missing There are also attacks on Kacie that seem intent on keeping her from investigating any further Thequestions that they have, theKacie realizes that she might have been wrong all along There s a really interesting twist at the end that revealsinformation about the killer, but leaves the question of Detective Brody s suicide still unresolved.I
