separate stories going on in this book as well as the adventure they take together across New York, only connected by phone I did guess some of the little twists and turns before they were actually revealed, but for the most part I still enjoyed the story I found Christy a bit annoying in parts, but nothing that detracted from the overall book Best part was Toni getting squashed in the Mercedes, laughed my socks off reading that Its the first book I have read by Lucy Hepburn, and I would be happy to readfrom her ARC supplied by Netgalley in exchange for the above honest review Ive read 2 busy job done and then straight on to the next They always need to be somewhere else, making a buck, living the dream, but the dream never catches up with them nobody puts the brakes on.The protagonist of 2 Busy 4 Love is Christy, she is permanently attached to her phone, she relies on it for every single aspect of her life Until the fateful day she leaves her phone behind on the train She now has to rely on Will, the person who has her phone, to help her out, giving directions, passing messages and appointments on Will is trying to deal with his own issues, he has to travel to his Father and get paperwork signed for the sale of his late grandfathers house He is the unfortunate person to be left holding Christy s phone and now has to deal with her work on top of his own problems.Christy is so busy helping others for her company that she barely sees her Sister and Mum Will has put so much focus on his business, organising others and wanting it to be a success his father is left behind in his dust This duo have to learn to sit back and relax, to spend time with loved ones Having to try to find he way around without her phone is hard for Christy, and she reluctantly enlists the help of Will Together Will and Christy learn to work as a team, helping each other out when needed.I began reading 2 Busy 4 Love with no idea of what would happen, and it initially took me a while to get into the book, I think that moment happened when she has to rely on Will for help to ensure she doesn t lose any of her clients 2 Busy 4 Love was a light read that I liked There were a few moments that made me think about what I do with my life, and although I m not running a business, a lot of my free time does revolve around reading and reviewing books The last few chapters were a surprise for me, it wasn t something I expected and I liked seeing how all the dots connected and fit into place The ending of the book wraps up nicely and leaves you feeling happy and content with what has happened Christy is always glued to her iPhone As a business owner of Doorman dot com, her life is performing tasks for other people picking up their dry cleaning, booking their tickets, taking their pets to the groomers Her phone is her lifeline with it she s plugged in to everything she could possibly need It s an address book, a diary, a map, everything She wants for nothing when it s in her hand.Which is why her life turns into disaster when she leaves it on a train when she s on her way to N Christy is always glued to her iPhone As a business owner of Doorman dot com, her life is performing tasks for other people picking up their dry cleaning, booking their tickets, taking their pets to the groomers Her phone is her lifeline with it she s plugged in to everything she could possibly need It s an address book, a diary, a map, everything She wants for nothing when it s in her hand.Which is why her life turns into disaster when she leaves it on a train when she s on her way to Newark to pick up her sister s fianc who is flying in from Italy for their engagement party Christy considers her sister irresponsible and flighty and she s taken over a lot of the preparations simply because she needs to.Will, the handsome man who was sitting opposite Christy on the train picks up her phone and Christy connects with him when she borrows a stranger s phone at the airport With Will, she can still complete her day s To Do List She just has to keep in touch with him and he can feed her the phone numbers, tasks and directions that she needs in order to provide the same fabulous service she prides herself on Only everything seems to be falling apart and she needs to stay permanently connected to Will Surprisingly this doesn t prove to be too difficult. Will is having the day from hell and the only thing that seems to brighten it up are phone calls from Christy and helping her do what she needs to get done He deftly guides her through the city, employing his own particular knowledge to help He mightn t really know how to work her iPhone map application but he does know the city and he can get her from one place to the other just as efficiently After dealing with his father, from whom Will is mostly estranged over a difficult and painful thing that needs doing, helping Christy soothes Will and he finds himself rather drawn to the voice on the end of the phone He can t wait until this day is over and he can meet her face to face, give her back her phone and maybe something. The other day I was in the mood for something really fun and when I saw this I thought it d fit the bill perfectly Christy is a hardcore perfectionist, an organiser and a do er She mostly believes that no one can accomplish something as efficiently as she does and she does tend to take over, as she has done with her sister s engagement party and wedding preparations She s even picking up her sister s fianc from the airport, despite never having met him, simply because she believes she ll do a better job On the train there, Christy takes call after call on her phone, annoying people around her, including the rather good looking man sitting opposite her, Will Christy is a bit flustered and winds up leaving her phone on the train where it is picked up by Will who has no idea how on Earth to operate it and is on his way to do something that he regards as being unpleasant and difficult Will is very like his business oriented grandfather and the two spent a lot of time together when Will was growing up after his mother died Will s father is a poet, totally different to Will and his grandfather and Will has trouble relating to him and the two have drifted apart in the years since Will left home, went to college and started working Any encounter with his father always sets him on edge and puts him in a bad mood and this time is no exception but he has Christy who needs him and Will thrives on being able to help her.Thetime they spend talking, thethey learn about each other and the attraction deepens Will looks forward to every time he can answer the phone and hear her low pitched, sexy voice They flirt when they have time but most importantly, they seem to connect Both of them harbour ideas about what might come of their meeting up for Will to give Christy back her phone but so many things complicate the day that it seems like it might never happen And then there s the matter of Toni, the European supermodel that Christy is dragging around the city, helping her on her jobs Antonio came to America for an appointment with a modelling agency but Christy finds herself responsible for him He doesn t speak much English but he s willing to help and Will feels like he might be a potential rival for Christy s affections and feels a little jealous that he s there with her physically while Will is still at the end of a phone.I really enjoyed this book kept me entertained the whole way through and I was on tenterhooks for Will and Christy to finally meet up in person and see what happened It reminded me a bit of Sophie Kinsella s I ve Got Your Number in a few ways, which was one of my favourite books last year Will and Christy definitely had chemistry and I think that s a difficult thing to sustain when your characters only see each other briefly and then don t come face to face for a large portion of the book Both of them have their family issues too and it seems that their time spent with each other help them in dealing with that as well 2 Busy 4 Love was everything I hoped it d be and I look forward to readingfrom Lucy Hepburn I was looking for a nice, between the characters and the story that kept me laughing throughout It was one of those comedies where nothing goes right Christy was charming, Toni was a hunk and Will was so well suited to Christy.Thank you to Net Galley for the opportunity to read and review this book ARC provided by publisher through NetGalley for an honest review 4 Funny, Hilarious, Laugh Out Loud StarsThis book was twenty four year old Type A personality who uses her iPhone as her second brain and extra appendage It s always stuck in her had It holds her schedule and every app that she could possibly use to clients and herself organized as a personal assistant to everyone from extremely busy executives to young paparazzi followed heiress The day she s to pick up her future brother in law from the airport, all hell breaks loose when Christy loses said iPhone on the train The phone is picked up by Will, who is on his way to his family home to deal with the business of a deceased relative and his poet father, with whom he has a strained relationship.First Christy picks up the wrong Antonio and everything goes downhill from there But the calming voice of Will on the other line, helping her with her schedule makes her realize she s been missing something in her life A companion, someone who s there when things go wrong and someone to celebrate with when things go well She also comes to learn that she s a little pushy with her own family and has to let up a bit even when she thinks shes helping. Will realizes, with Christy s help, that although he s experienced a childhood that wasn t ideal, he has a father that loves him in his own way and didn t completely drop out after his mother passe He learns that it s never too late to establish the relationship he wants with his father.Christy spends her day running around Manhattan, The Bronx, Newark and New Brunswick, with Italian supermodel Toni, who speaks broken English in commercial slogans and song lyrics trying to get her complete her tasks for her clients Some of her judgement and preconceived notions of people are put to the test as well as the good will of others Christy is always ready to help when someone is in need and this brings good things to her later in the story. It s so funny at times, you can t help buy laugh so hard you cry I would have liked a little better communication with Will at times, but I get where the author was coming from. The idea that we are all way too connected to technology to even remember someone s phone number really resonated with me I m of an age that I remember when we had to remember everyone s numbers to call them or at least have it written down in a phone book next to the phone I m always complaining that I feel I don t use my actual brain enough, which is why I read So I loved the idea of what happens when someone loses something that they use instead of their own brain or writing down.Just too funny &Read Book ↿ 2 Busy 4 Love ⇻ A handsome stranger almost got a chance to read 2 Busy 4 Love I was really, really glad.I don t like the title itself too much but on the other hand it suits the plot wonderfully The cover of the book is also not this what I d To be honest, I am not so iPhone y girl myself, I amWill s brick Nokia person and I am not such a fan of all the social nets, different apps and till now I don t know whatthan half of the functions my smart phone has, are for So the way Christy was with her phone was rather alien to me I would never relay on my phone or laptop or any other device like she did But I guess I was born in the false times Nevertheless it was a great read and I have learnt what the modern phones are capable of Good The characters in this book are brilliantly written, all of them Christy was very likeable and even with her love to her phone I warmed to her immediately She wanted to control everything, she has her days planned to the minute but inside she was just a girl who wanted to love and being loved and was sentimental Will, oh Will, the second control freak in this book but also open for new And well, supermodel Toni, Toni if you are planning on coming to Germany I d pick you from the airport, oh yes, I would And then I would make a city tour with you, even if it means carrying heavy carpet. There was a lot happening, really A LOT And every other situation that happened led to another, ridiculous It was like a snow ball effect Like Murphy s law Like in normal life actually if something was to happen, it would happen for sure to me And then again, and again and again And it was great to read how Christy is coping with all the unexpected situations, what kind of people she meets It is a comedy of events, mistakes, miscommunication and fate, but what isimportant, under all this humour there is a hidden truth that there is nothingimportant than personal communication, real feelings We often think that we are really connected to the people or family on FB, Twitter, sending short messages etc but in reality we feel lonely, are alone and forget how to talk with our relatives and friends It is a wonderfully written book, easy to follow and with surprising situations Lightly predictable of course but still great to read For my liking it was a little too long, especially the last chapters, too much psychology, too much talking but nevertheless, it s funny and light read and I will for sure come back to Lucy Hepburn s book Actually, the next is waiting already on my kindle I have received a copy of this book from publisher via NetGalley This book And it kind of is It s the sort of book that would have made a great Meg Ryan movie back in the day Who s the new Meg Ryan, by the way Emma Stone, maybe Let s picture Emma Stone.Christy is in her late twenties, and she runs her own personal service business called Doorman dot com It involves a lot of pickups and deliveries of objects and people, and she keeps track of it all on her beloved iPhone One fateful day, as she takes the train from New York to New Brunswick, she accidentally leaves her precious precious phone on the train A cute guy finds it for her, and the rest is wacky hijinks and coincidences. Will runs his own human resources business, and he s usually got things to do, but he s in New Brunswick to deal with his dead grandpa s house, which means dealing with his spaced out, non communicative poet father He would be having a bad day, but he gets to talk to Christy on the phone and help her solve her problems, so he feels pretty good about things.Christy s jaunt through New York is chaotic but she manages to meet every friendly person in town and build lots of good karma Her schedule is messed up, she picks up the wrong Italian guy from the airport, and she misses the chance to put a deposit down on the apartment of her dreams It s kind of a terrible day, but she enjoys checking in with Will and they find themselves just chatting when they ve got time They even manage to complete all of her tasks, albeit out of order and behind schedule. Now, all of the secondary characters are tangled up in a way that would only happen in a movie You can choose to be aggravated by the tweeness, or you can accept it and enjoy the roller coaster ride I, for one, couldn t put this book down all damn day, and the list of things that I didn t accomplish because of it made me feel like the anti Christy I have to give credit to a book that keeps me reading like that.My only real complaint is the ending In the movies, it s fine to show the two characters finally meet up, exchange heated glances, kiss each other madly, and then fade to black In this book, the meeting was drawn out a little too long due to quirky interruptions, and I wantedof an emotional charge when they were finally able to kiss Then I really, really wantedkissing, but it just ended Le sigh.Rating B
